Two WW2 warbirds hang suspended, waiting for the protective plastic to be
removed when the Udvar-Hazy Center opens it doors for visitors.

| One day in the near future, in what
is now a cavernous void within a hangar under construction at the Dulles
International Airport, millions of visitors will be able to view some of the
largest exhibits owned by the Smithsonian Institute's National Air and Space
Museum. Starting around December 2003, visitors to the Herndon-Dulles area
will be able to see many famous aircraft and spacecraft restored to their
prime condition.
When open to the public, the planned exhibits include:
- Space shuttle orbiter Enterprise
- SR-71 Blackbird
- B29 Enola Gay
- Super-Sonic Transport Concorde
